On December 7th 2023, the Bioceb Secretariat organised a Jazz and Management Workshop in AgroParisTech.

It gathered students from several Erasmus Mundus Masters from AgroParisTech: M2 Bioceb (track 1), M2 FIPDes and M2 PRIAM/EMABG, as well as academic and administrative staff. In total, about 30 persons were present.
This workshop was part of a programme to develop the students’ soft skills, especially their ability to listen to others, work in group and their creativity. The facilitator, Didier Burgaud, is both a professional jazzman and management coach. The members of the jazz band were: Didier Burgaud, Frédéric Rottier, Simon Teboul and Vinh Lê.
Stéphanie Baumberger, the coordinator of Bioceb, opened the workshop. Following her introduction, the band performed various tunes that prompted the audience to contemplate the connections between music, a jazz band, and management. Both students and staff members provided insightful responses to these inquiries.
Subsequently, the audience actively participated in the music by either initiating the band’s performance (using varied countdowns like "1, 2...1,2,3") or by joining in and accompanying the musicians with their instruments, which involved group work and synchronisation! It was the opportunity to bring together students and staff from different backgrounds around the same artistic activity.
The workshop was followed by a musical cocktail that enabled everyone to discuss about the experience and to enjoy a convivial moment!
