The Bioceb students of 4th cohort at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology had a fantastic chance to dive into the bioeconomy context in a ‘real-life’ by attending a two-day conference "Three Pillars of Circular Bioeconomy: Talent, R&D, and Technologies" focuses on sustainable feedstocks and technologies in light of the challenges and ambitions of the Green Deal.

The conference "Three Pillars of Circular Bioeconomy: Talent, R&D, and Technologies" took place at the Öpik Conference Centre in Tallinn (Valukoja 8) on 12 and 13 February 2024. The event was organised by the University of Tartu’s EU H2020 project, ERA Chair in Gas Fermentation Technologies, Enterprise Estonia’s Programme for Applied Research (EAS), and Metrosert’s Applied Research Division.

The students listened to the success stories, insights, lessons, challenges, and discussion on the road to sustainable bioeconomy delivered by the experts from Estonia and abroad. A series of workshops helped Bioceb students to analyze how to hold the focus on how to advance the research to an effective product in the bioeconomy aspect.

We thank a co-organiser of the event Prof. Ilona Faustova and all organising committee team and speakers/coaches for this fantastic opportunity to take step forwards to growing a new generation of bioeconomy experts.
